Everywhere else on this site we try to keep our thumbs off the scale. This is the section where we put them on. Opinion is home to viewpoints and advocacy from our riders and contributors: the fight to keep backcountry roads open, land use and trail access, and the debates shaping where the next generation gets to ride. These pieces are clearly labelled as one person’s view, argued honestly and backed by their years on the dirt, and they often come with something you can actually do: a survey to fill out, a consultation to speak at, a road worth defending. Riding is the fun part. This is the part that keeps it possible.
