Disclaimer
Bike Gear Database publishes routes, stories, GPX files, and gear reviews to inspire and inform the adventure cycling community. All content is provided “as-is.”
Gear & Product Reviews
Our gear and bike reviews reflect our own experience and opinion at the time of testing. They are not professional safety certifications, and they are not a substitute for a manufacturer’s own instructions, fit guidance, weight limits, or safety warnings. Always follow the manufacturer’s guidelines for use, sizing, and maintenance.
Products, prices, specs, and availability can change after we publish a review, and results can vary based on your body, riding style, terrain, and how a product is used or maintained. We do our best to keep reviews accurate, but we don’t guarantee that any product will perform a certain way for you, and we are not responsible for defects, recalls, or issues with products you purchase based on something you read here. Any purchase decision is yours to make, and we’d encourage doing your own research, including checking current manufacturer information, before buying.
Bike Gear Database is not the manufacturer, seller, or warrantor of any product we review. If something you bought turns out to be defective or unsafe, your recourse is with the manufacturer or retailer, not with us.
Routes, GPX Files & Points of Interest
Routes come from a mix of sources: some are contributed by riders around the world and hosted on our Ride With GPS account, some are GPX files we host directly, and we’re increasingly publishing original routes of our own. We do not independently verify, ride, or re-check every route, GPX file, or point of interest listed on this site.
Trail and road conditions change after a route is published. Trails close, land access changes, bridges wash out, water sources dry up, and conditions vary with season and weather. Distances, elevation, difficulty ratings, surface types, and points of interest (including food, water, and camping spots) are provided as general guidance only and may be inaccurate or out of date by the time you ride. Some routes may cross private or sensitive land; it’s your responsibility to confirm current access rules before riding.
Adventure cycling involves real risk, including remote terrain, traffic, extreme weather, limited services, wildlife, and unpredictable trail conditions. It’s on you to evaluate your own skill level, fitness, equipment, and preparation, to carry your own navigation and safety gear, and to confirm, using your own research and local sources, that a route is currently open, legal to ride, and appropriate for your ability before you go.
Bike Gear Database, its contributors, and its team assume no responsibility or liability for injury, loss, death, or damage of any kind arising from your use of this site or any route, GPX file, story, or other content we publish. By using this website and any content we share, you agree that you do so entirely at your own risk.

That said, we always encourage supporting your local bike shops first.
